Today, Simon hosted a free Community CPR and Defibrillator Awareness session at the Church Hall at St Mary’s Church, Mariner’s Drive, Stoke Bishop.
This venue holds special significance - Simon installed a defibrillator at the church back in February 2022, having identified a growing need for a second unit in the Stoke Bishop area. Since then, the defib has remained a vital part of the local emergency response infrastructure.
The training session brought together two communities: local residents from Stoke Bishop who either hadn’t previously received training or wanted a refresher, and a group from Fishpool Hill in Brentry - where Simon installed our 55th defibrillator just last month.

The session covered the key steps of responding to a cardiac emergency, including performing CPR and how to confidently use a defibrillator. Attendees had the chance to get hands-on and familiarise themselves with the equipment and procedures - building the confidence that can help save a life.
A big thank you to everyone who attended, and to the team at St Mary’s Church for providing the space. It was a great turnout, and a brilliant example of how different communities can come together to support life-saving education.
