Our defibrillator formerly installed at Future Leap on the Gloucester Road/Zetland Road junction is finally back where it belongs - live, active, and ready to save a life.
After sitting offline during the redevelopment of the Future Leap building (now a Waitrose), we’re pleased to confirm the unit has been successfully relocated to the Prince of Wales pub next door.
A Challenging Re-site - and Why It Took Time
Once the contractor confirmed the new Waitrose frontage wouldn’t allow a cabinet, the unit had to be removed and re-sited. With no available external wall space, we had no choice but to remove the unit entirely until a suitable new location could be agreed.
The Prince of Wales landlord was immediately supportive, and once installation could finally be carried out, D4B funded the full reinstall, including the electrics, certification, and cabinet servicing. The unit was cleaned, lubricated, and prepared for a fresh start on its new wall.

Back Online - And Almost Immediately Called For
The defibrillator was officially brought back online last week, and within 48 hours it was called for. Fortunately, it wasn’t required in the end, but it was ready - and that’s what matters.
Huge credit goes to Rem, the defibrillator's guardian, who had the unit activated without any chasing. Local guardians make all the difference.
A Quick Thank You
Thank you to everyone who helped get this vital unit back on the wall. This junction has always been a key footfall area, and it’s great to have coverage restored once again.
