44th Defibrillator Installed in Southville

Bright yellow defibrillator mounted on a brick wall between garages on Islington Road, Southville, providing 24-hour access to emergency life-saving equipment

We’re excited to announce the installation of our 44th defibrillator, located at the garages between 24 and 30 Islington Road in Southville. This vital 24-hour Community Public Access Defibrillator (CPAD) was made possible through the dedication of a local resident, whose family member had experienced a cardiac arrest six years ago. Inspired by this experience, she led the charge to bring life-saving equipment to the area.

Through her remarkable fundraising efforts, she successfully covered the full cost of the defibrillator. With support from Defibs4Bristol, we secured the unit through a government grant. The installation was completed yesterday by Gary, our electrician, and the defibrillator is now fully operational and registered on the 999 system, ensuring it’s available 24/7 to anyone in need.

This installation is a significant step towards improving access to life-saving equipment in residential areas. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the local resident for her commitment to this project and to Gary for the seamless installation.
