The Old Crow Is Back, and So Is Its Defibrillator!

There's good news for the Henbury community! Following an extensive refurbishment, The Old Crow pub on Crow Lane reopened its doors on 2 October 2026, sporting a fresh new look.
And we're delighted that its community defibrillator is back in place too!
Simon, the Founder of Defibs4Bristol, has been keeping a close eye on the site since noticing that refurbishment work was underway.
With the building fenced off, the defibrillator had been removed and taken offline on The Circuit, the national defibrillator network used by ambulance services to locate available devices. Determined to get this important piece of lifesaving equipment back into service, Simon kept in touch with the team on site, regularly checked progress and helped coordinate its return.
Once the refurbishment was complete, he cleared away brick dust left by the building works and ensured the defibrillator cabinet was clean, accessible and ready for use. The defibrillator is now back in place, on the side wall of the pub facing the car park.
We've also recruited a new volunteer guardian to help look after it going forward.
A big thank you to Ben, the Investment Manager at Punch Pubs, for his help and cooperation in getting the defibrillator back in place.
It's a great example of the work that goes on behind the scenes to keep community defibrillators available, even when buildings change hands, undergo refurbishment or temporarily close.
We wish everyone at The Old Crow every success with the newly refurbished pub, and we're pleased to see both the pub and its defibrillator back serving the Henbury community!
