Update: Continued Vandalism of Stockwood Health Centre Defibrillator Cabinet

Damaged Defibrillator Cabinet at Stockwood Health Centre

In just over two weeks since the initial incident where a defibrillator was removed and damaged, Simon of Defibs4Bristol received another concerning call from the Stockwood Health Centre. This time, the cabinet housing the defibrillator had been severely damaged. The door was unable to close properly, clearly showing signs of a significant impact. As you can see from the attached image, the cabinet has taken quite a battering.

Determined to resolve the issue swiftly, Simon headed over with some tools. However, the damage was more extensive than anticipated, and the tools he had brought weren’t enough. In a fortunate turn of events, Simon called upon several neighbours, and the fourth one he contacted had a vice and clamps - exactly what was needed. With these tools, Simon managed to bend the door back into shape. The door now closes securely, restoring the cabinet to a functional state.

Simon is actively collaborating with local figureheads and authorities to get to the bottom of this troubling series of events. It’s disheartening to see such vital public resources being targeted, but the community’s resilience and quick response give us hope. We are committed to ensuring the defibrillator remains accessible and operational, as it plays a critical role in safeguarding public health.

We will keep you updated as more information comes to light. In the meantime, we thank everyone for their continued support and vigilance. Together, we can protect the resources that keep our community safe.
