On a bright Friday afternoon, Peaches Golding OBE, the Lord-Lieutenant of the City and County of Bristol, joined hands with Defibs4Bristol and Pioneer Medical Group to unveil two new life-saving defibrillators at the Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston health surgeries.

The event, held on the 26th of April, marked a significant expansion in our mission to make Bristol a safer place.

The collaboration between Defibs4Bristol and Pioneer Medical Group began in February 2024, with the installation of a defibrillator at their Bradgate surgery in Henbury. Encouraged by the positive impact, the medical group intensified their commitment by securing two additional units for their surgeries in Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston. These installations were made possible through a joint funding effort between Defibs4Bristol and Pioneer Medical Group, with additional support from a government grant program.

Simon, the founder of Defibs4Bristol, expressed his gratitude towards Peaches Golding and Pioneer Medical Group for their support and dedication. "These new units are not just equipment; they are beacons of hope for the community. They stand ready to save lives and provide peace of mind to the residents and visitors of Avonmouth and Lawrence Weston," he said.

Peaches shared highlights and her thoughts on her Twitter account, capturing the collective spirit and dedication that made this day memorable.

Through these efforts, we continue to strengthen the network of emergency response facilities throughout Bristol. Each new defibrillator installation brings us one step closer to ensuring that no one in our community is far from potentially life-saving assistance.
