Over the past couple of weeks, Simon has been out across Bristol delivering CPR and defibrillator awareness sessions to local groups and communities.
It’s been a busy run of talks, with strong engagement at each session and some welcome fundraising support for future installations.
Stoke Gifford WI - 1st April

Simon delivered a CPR and defibrillator talk to the Stoke Gifford Women’s Institute (WI) on the evening of 1st April. The session was well received, with great engagement throughout.
Stoke Bishop Townswomen’s Guild – 2nd April

The following day, Simon gave a talk to the Stoke Bishop Townswomen’s Guild.
This was a particularly nice one to return to, as Defibs4Bristol had previously helped raise funds and install a defibrillator at this location around four years ago.
One moment that stood out came from an attendee who said to Simon: “You’re the person who started off the defibrillator network, aren’t you?”
That comment showed how far the project has come, and how visible the work is becoming across the city.
Coming back to deliver training and awareness in the same community shows how these installations continue to have a lasting impact.
Clifton Library – 8th April

On 8th April, Simon ran a lunchtime CPR and defibrillator session at Clifton Library, with over 20 people attending.
It was a really responsive group, with lots of questions and strong interest in learning how to act in an emergency situation.
Community support and fundraising
Across these recent sessions, the support from attendees has been fantastic.
Together, these talks raised just over £200 in a short period - a great contribution that will go directly towards future defibrillator installations and maintaining the network across Bristol.
A big thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and contributed - it’s genuinely appreciated and makes a real difference.
Why these sessions matter
Every session like this helps:
build confidence in using defibrillators
improve awareness of cardiac arrest response
strengthen community resilience
Alongside installing defibrillators, training and education remain a key part of what we do - making sure people not only have access to equipment, but also know how to use it when it matters most.
